Downs and Ups in Moon Valley, USA

The fence is down around the soon-to-open E' Bello structure in downtown Ojai, joining an ancient oak and state-wide housing sales in things that are seeking lower ground. Meanwhile, things on the rise include the new Arcade Plaza sculpture, Ojai home sales, and the sun!

On Capitol Hill, recent Ojai visitor Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio shook up the House of Representatives this past Tuesday by bringing forward a resolution calling for the impeachment of Vice President Richard Cheney for high crimes and misdemeanors. After some tactical voting by House Republicans, the resolution now sits in the Democrat-controlled but impeachment-uninterested House Judiciary Committee. Our representative, Elton Gallegly, sits on said committee...if you want impeachment, call him: 1-202-225-5811

Closer to home, the Buddhist association Soka Gakkai International - a grassroots movement promoting a Cultural, Educational, and Humanistic Network pursuing nonviolence & dialogue - will host a food, music, and panel discussion event entitled "Creating a Culture of Peace" this coming Sunday November 11th from 1-3pm at the Ojai Retreat (160 Besant Road, Meiners Oaks). The event is free and open to the public!
