The regular meeting of the Ojai Planning Commission will be called to order by the Chair on
Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Ojai City Hall, 401 S. Ventura Street, Ojai, California.
MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION ON ITEMS
APPEARING ON THE AGENDA ARE REQUESTED TO COMPLETE A SPEAKER'S
CARD AND FILE IT WITH THE COMMISSION SECRETARY PRIOR TO THE START OF
THE MEETING. PROJECT APPLICANTS WHO HAVE AN ITEM ON THE AGENDA DO
NOT NEED A SPEAKER'S CARD. CARDS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY OF THE
COUNCIL CHAMBERS. ALL COMMENTS SHOULD BE LIMITED TO THREE MINUTES
OR LESS UNLESS ADDITIONAL TIME IS GRANTED BY THE CHAIR.

PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Public Communications is the time set-aside during the Planning Commission meeting for members of the public to address the Planning Commission on matters not on the agenda. Under State law, other than for emergency items, no action can be taken at this meeting. Matters raised at this time may be briefly discussed by the Commission, and will generally be referred to staff and/or placed on a subsequent agenda. Persons wishing to address the Planning Commission should fill out a speaker card. When addressing the Commission, please state your name and limit your comments to three minutes or less. Thank you.
CONSENT CALENDAR – The consent calendar is approved by a roll call vote on one motion. Should any member of the Commission wish to discuss or disapprove an item, it must be removed from the consent calendar and considered as a separate item.
1. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Planning Commission May 2, 2007
RECOMMENDATION: Approve as submitted
2. ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT, WHICH DELETES AND REPLACES
CERTAIN LANGUAGE IN TITLE 10, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 16 OF THE OJAI
MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING SIGN REGULATIONS (TA 07-01). The Ordinance
Amendment would apply city-wide. A Categorical Exemption has been prepared pursuant to
the California Environmental Quality Act.

1. Continue this item to June 6, 2007 pending review by the City Attorney.

PUBLIC HEARING ITEM
3. DESIGN REVIEW PERMIT (DRP 07-04) for a second story, 268 square foot expansion to an existing two-story single-family residence located at 325 Descanso Avenue in Ojai, California, Assessor’s Parcel Number: 017-0-315-095. The General Plan designation for the property is Medium High Density Residential (8 du/ac). The Zoning Classification of the property is Single-Family Residential (R-1). A Categorical Exemption has been prepared pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act. Property Owner/Applicant: Jeff D. Muth
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Adopt the required findings for Design Review Permit DRP 07-04 as specified in
Attachment A of the staff report, including CEQA findings;
2. Accept the CEQA Categorical Exemption for DRP 07-04 included as Attachment B of
the staff report; and
3. Approve DRP 07-04 subject to the conditions included as Attachment C of the staff
report.
