DISCUSSION
7. Final Arcade Plaza Renovation Project Update and Financial Status Report
RECOMMENDATION: Receive and file staff report for the Arcade Plaza Renovation Project.
Redevelopment Analyst, Kathy McCann, presented an overview of the staff report and Project budget. Neva Williams, Project Manager, was also present to answer questions.
Council Member Bury expressed his gratitude to both McCann and Williams for doing a great job. He understands the stress level involved in such a large project and noted that McCann and Williams really went the extra mile.
Council Member Bury would like to see additional trees in the area around the fountain considered for the Project.
Council Member Smith agrees with Bury regarding additional trees in the Plaza especially for shade during the summer months.
Council Member Smith asked if now that we know the cost of cleaning the pavers, would the Project Team be inclined to use the same material in the future.
Mayor Pro Tem Horgan noted that one of the things she was very proud of is that the Project was managed in a non governmental fashion and particularly when problems with the infrastructure were encountered which delayed the Project by a month, the troops were called in, motivated, and the Project was completed on time.
Mayor DeVito and Council Member Hanstad joined in extending congratulations on the impressive Arcade Plaza Project.
Bill Miley related that he had observed the area before, during and after the Project and thinks it is indeed beautiful. Mr. Miley concurs with Council on the excellent work and interactive handling of the Project.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
